About
Research Background
Studies snow and ice hydrology and remote sensing in high-altitude cold regions, with a focus on precipitation data fusion, snowmelt modelling and river ice monitoring. This work connects advances in model process representation with operational applications.
- Proposed a framework for assessing snowmelt contributions in high-altitude mountains by tracing meltwater pathways, developed snow hydrological simulations coupled with blowing-snow processes, and led snow model development for the Heihe Research Programme’s ecohydrological model.
- Developed a runoff forecasting system integrating climate forecast models, land-surface models and cold-region hydrological models. The work has supported water-resource assessments and hazard forecasting by local agencies in Xinjiang, Qinghai and Hebei.
- Developed remote sensing and hydrological modelling methods for river icing on the Tibetan Plateau.
